Last day in Keys

Day 40 & 41 ~ A day in Marathon Another day in Key West

We had a quiet day Monday cleaning the RV, relaxing and changing RV sites.  Tuesday we got an early start heading to Curry Hammock State Park for 2 hours of Kayaking (only one picture, sorry).  We paddled in and out of Mangrove Island and ended in the Altantic Ocean.  It was so fun! It was the first time either of us had been in a kayak and we chose a double for this adventure.  The tide was going out at noon and some of the water ways were a bit challenging but I paddled while Dan used his paddle to push us away from the  Mangroves! We enjoyed the beach and looked for shells until lunch and headed to Key West for the rest of the day.  I got to drive and let Dan enjoy the ride and take pictures. (see below).  We found a cute little Irish tarven for yummy fish & chips lunch.  Then on to Duval Street and Mallory Square.  We  shopped for those one of a kind treasured sovenoirs for everyone!  More post cards are on the way too.  We have quite a collection of new Christmas ornaments.  Turtle had given us a great tip to get to the top of a hotel to get a great overview of the area.  We went up there to catch the sun going down and it was fantasic.  We ran to Mallory's Square for the  Sunset Celebration our final sunset in The Keys this trip.  Hope you are enjoying the pictures.

We head back to Venice/Orlando/Siesta Keys/and ....???   to start a week's vacation (spring break) with Nannette, Brittany, Candce, and 4 days with Amanda and Brian. (timing didn't work for Dozer to be here now; he started his new job in Maryland yesterday) Check the blog for updates.
