DC Site Seeing

Blog 2 of 3 continued

DC was all decked out for The National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Ironically we were in front of this building on April 15th

The Mall was covered with kids and kites.  It was so beautiful.

Lincoln Memorial in the distance.

Korean Memorial

The Mall Reflecting Pool was closed for construction, too bad.

Smithsonian Museum Castle and Natural History Museum
Kevin, Dan and I ventured into downtown DC on Tuesday for an afternoon in the Smithsonian.  There is never enough time to spend here.  We took in a 3D movie - Born to be Wild.  After all that reading and walking we headed to a wonderal BBQ dinner at close friends of Kevin's.  Their four children entertained us until we realized it was a school nite and way past their bedtime (us too).

Marge, Dozer, Kevin, Dan and I visited Old Town Alexandria last August.  Dan and I headed down there again for lunch and a long walk by the Potomac.

King Street for shopping and Fish Market for lunch

Then  onto Mount Vernon to see George Washington's estate.

We notice these signs now we are 13' 6"; thank goodness we were in Grand Prix
