Post 75 ~ Falling Up Tour ~ Harpers Ferry, VA & New Castle, PA ~ HOME for Birthday !

We went from PA to MA to VA to WV to VA to MA to PA

The "Falling Up Tour" is coming to an end ~ with cooler temps and less leaves to peek at.

Shenandoah Valley Area

Like a postcard picture

Dan loved seeing the water and rocks . . . reminds him of his 'white water rafting days' with guys from Walbridge ~ good times!

We pulled into West Virginia area and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the nice KOA.  We took a drive into town and were a bit too late to shop; so we had to hit a Walmart the next day  :-)  Dan purchased the new Steve Jobs book and I got yummy blue bunny ice cream to eat with your dutch apple pie from local cider mill.

He enjoyed the drive and all the colors

No looking while we are going over bridges!

CAUGHT HIM LOOKING !!!!

No colors here !

or here . . .

He loves when we arrive at new RV site ~ all new sites from his favorite window !
Moooooooooooo
We went exploring Lawrence County and the BIG town of New Castle, PA ~ the temps were mid 60's and not a cloud in the sky.  We went downtown and then to the Amish Countryside (on the map!)  Monday is wash day just like at home (lol ~mom!)  Never have I seen such long clothes lines with nothing but blue-jean overalls and blue shirts.

Posed for me, look at the cute nose on the far right cow

We had to take pictures of the cow, cuz you couldn't take pictures of the Amish

The coolest corn field!  It should be a postcard too! (I love my new camera)

These Amish Folks are well know for their "brown" carriages

Pennsylvania is also know for covered bridges like another state we visited on this tour.  These next few pictures are from McConnell's Mill State Park.  The road around the park reminded us of Smugglers' Notch in VE with the rocks covering the road and trees growing from the rock.

No RV's on this bridge !!!!

Looked like the rocks separated and people climb in the crack

No WAY !!  It's like that movie .... climbing in rocks with cracks is not good for your limbs.

So the end is HERE:

We have filled in the WHOLE right side of our map and even overlapped a bit with the 'Gone Coastal Tour'

We look forward to the next Tour (un-named) of the lower west coast states.  Thank you for tracking our blog and we hope you have enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you!

I had the best birthday celebration during this tour!

All I wanted for my big birthday was to be with the ALL our kids; I got my wish!!!

They were all together on my new iPad when I unwrapped it at Dozer's apartment.  Amanda, Brian, Chase, Brittany and Candice faces were on the screen of the iPad and Dozer, Marge and Danny were there in person!  What a wonderful surprise and of course we were all crying!  This was the BEST and most PREFECT Birthday EVER!!!

  1. Pretty scenes! So many states! Good thing they were small. Can't wait to play with the iPad when I see you very soon! Glad you made it home safely and let the holiday celebrations begin!
