Days 16-18 ~ Wide Open Spaces Tour 2012 ~ Tucson, AZ

Driving away from the colder weather to sunny Tucson, AZ

We had a short drive back from Carlsbad.  The weather was ugly when we headed out and within an hour there was nothing by blue skies.  We finally said good-bye to Texas and New Mexico.

Leaving New Mexico

Leaving Texas

Leaving Guadeloupe mountains

I guess you can't operate a hotel without a roof . . .

What were these people thinking?

It seams like we've been following a lot of these in Arizona

Another ghost town

We can finally put a new sticker on our map

In Arizona and not a cloud in the sky, - well maybe one

and very rocky terrain

Arizonians take real pride in there bridges ~ Brittany!  pretty flower!

and overpasses

and colorful buildings ~ Girls, it's it pretty?

We visited the Saguaro National Park

At the top of the cactus blooms flowers

Some cactus even smoke

Bunnies in the desert are called Jack-rabbits

Various photos throughout the park...

More Wide Open Spaces !!

We saw a few deer cross the road in front of us, they look a little different here..

The rare fan-like growth at the top of cactus happens 1 in 200,000 and we found one

Beautiful skies at sunset

Good-bye
