Day 53 ~ Wide Open Spaces Tour 2012 ~ More Beaches

Another beautiful day driving around L.A.

We started out the day buying tickets to see the Red Wings play the Duck on March 14th!  Then found some strawberries on the side of the road, yummy!  The pictures tell the story, enjoy.

This is how they grow strawberries on Ca.

We had heard horror stories about LAX airport

...so while down near the beaches we figured we take a dry run before the girls came in tomorrow

We had to stop by the "Marina Del Ray"

Nice little boats...

and plenty of them

and of course we had to check out The Cheesecake factory...valet parking was $8 for lunch or $9 for dinner LOL, we found a parking space on our own

more angry birds

and one not so angry bird cause it found a worm

The pier @ Huntington Beach Beach
As we walked along the beach, here are some of the treasures we found:

Lifeguard SUV equipped with surf boards

White sands and very cold water

a little windy on the pier

big freighter close to shore

I don't think the water is warm enough for para-sailing, hope they don't get wet

seen along the Venice Beach boardwalk

I wonder how they cut it?

I had always heard about Muscle Beach, this was it !

You could see just about anything on the boardwalk along Venice Beach

even Danny's

Venice beach had a nice downtown area too

They were shooting a segment while we were there

It's not graffiti if you get a permit

Backside of Muscle Beach

The boardwalk was busy...

They even sold "medical" marijuana on the boardwalk

This reminded me of the roman chariots in "Ben Hur"

I guess that's one way to deal with LA traffic
