California here we come . . . . . . . .
First there was Blythe, then Quartzsite. Each with their own charm.
A first for Dan... |
I guess they have a problem with cattle on the highway? - see the cattle grate across the road |
. . . and more Wide Open Spaces with long roads... |
where does this road go? - glad we have GPS! |
more desert |
And we found ourselves on the old "Route 66" again |
More strange rock formations... |
This campground in Blyth, Ca was right on the Colorado river, the border with Arizona. |
We had read that it had a Tiki Bar, that is it with the yellow sign |
it was a nice setting right on the river |
Snickers liked the view and all the birds... |
They claimed to have hot showers, but I never expected this. |
Sunsets on the Arizona mountains looked awesome |
Pam told me about some pretty sun rises |
@ 6 o'clock our time |
we were looking right down the boat launch |
Quartzite is a small town in the Az. desert that swells to 100 times its population with RV'ers in the month of January. |
We found a used car lot in the desert with nothing but old cars & trucks |
How does that one look, Fred? |
Interesting place we had heard about... |
it came highly recommended for its seafood |
even had outdoor plumbing |
I just got an idea for something to do with my truck when its put back together |
"Q" for Quartzite |
There was a sheep farm near our campsite |
1,000's of sheep... |
This gal wanted to pose for a pic... |
Like Mother like son... |
This must have been the "Black-faced sheep of the family... |
We had some nice sunsets... |
Our own little Tiki bar to watch Redwing games |
and not too much competition for seats when games start at 4:30pm(California time) |
